How do I sign up for a sport?

Contact the Athletic Director, Jade Bath @ 384-5753 or 948-3587

How do I register my student online for athletics?
Go to the website: rfsd.k12.co.us In the right hand column click on “Athletics”. Then click on “Athletic Participation Registration Form”. Fill in all requested information.

Where can I get a sports physical?
Free athletic screenings are given here by Roaring Fork Family Physicians in the spring of every year for students who will be Sophomores, Juniors or Seniors in the following year. Incoming Freshmen must get a complete physical at a doctor’s office at their own expense. Any student who does not participate in the free screening in the spring is responsible for the expense of obtaining a physical from any doctor in the valley before they can begin to practice any sport. Physical Forms can be accessed here.

When do practices begin?
Practices in the Fall begins on August 14th. Winter practices will begin on November 9th. Spring practices begin on February 25th.

What sports are offered at Roaring Fork High School?
In the Fall we have football, soccer and volleyball and cheerleading. Cross Country, boys golf and girls softball is offered at Basalt High School. In the Winter we offer boys and girls basketball. Wrestling is offered at Glenwood Springs High School. In the spring we offer track, girls soccer and baseball. Boys lacrosse is offered at Glenwood Springs High School as well as girls golf.

Athletic Fees

For all participating students:

$100.00 Athletic Fees due per sports season (Fall, Winter, Spring)

$100.00 Uniform Deposit per Year

Athletic Fees are only due for the season in which the student plans to participate. For example, a student participating only in Boy's Basketball (Winter) owes $100.00 in athletic fees, but a student participating in Boy's Soccer (Fall) and Track (Spring) would owe $200.00.

Uniform Deposits are NOT cashed upon collection and are only used as a backup in case a uniform is damaged or missing. They are often in the form of a check but can be given as cash. One deposit is used for the year unless the uniform deposit is used. Checks are shredded at year end, and cash will be returned directly to the student; therefore, a new check/deposit it required at the beginning of each school year.

There is a $400 maximum per family per year.

If either the athletic fee or uniform deposit is missing by the first game, the student will not play. Some students are eligible for reduced athletic fees based upon Free & Reduced Lunch eligibility. Payment plans can be arranged with your student's coach or Jade Bath (Athletics Secretary), so please call her at (970) 384-5750 or come into the front office to make arrangements.
